The CS Department received an 实现格兰特 从 Center of Inclusive Computing, in the amount of $800,000 for two years (2021/10/1 - 2023/9/30), to improve the diversity of students in undergraduate programs in computing. 

Academic Advisor for Inclusive Computing and Student Success 

With the grant the department's goal is to be able to increase the number of students that identify as women and come from underrepresented groups in the computing field. In order to do this the department has hired a full time academic advisor to help retain the numbers of underrepresented students and help them during their education 路径.

The academic advisor for Inclusive Computing and Student Success 合作伙伴关系 with clubs on campus to create events for students to attend. The goals of the events are to intrigue students into Data 科学 and Computer 科学 as well as for students to find communities with other students that share similar interests. 事件 have been held are club days, and frontend workshops, with many more to come.
