人文学科 Honors
The 人文学科 Honors program is an interdisciplinary and globally focused series of four lower-division courses that interrogate knowledge production throughout human 历史. In these team-taught courses, students integrate modes of knowledge production, literature, philosophy, art, culture, performance, ecology, and social institutions.
NOTE: For AY 2023-2024, 人文学科 Honors will not offer the first-year courses (HUM 1A及哼1 b). During this time, the 人文学科 Honors faculty will be redesigning the curriculum for all courses in the program. The new course offerings and curriculum will launch in the Fall of 2024. The second-year courses (哼2 and 哼2 b) and Advanced Honors courses (HUM 177A and 177B) will be offered.
人文学科 Honors courses provide 24 units of general education credit: 哼1 meets the arts and letters (C1) and human understanding and development (E) requirements; 哼1 b meets oral communication (A1) and critical thinking and writing (A3) requirements; 22/23月 哼2 meets oral communication (A1) and comparative systems (D2) requirements, and 哼2 b meets written communication (A2) and American institutions (US 1,2,3). 人文学科 Honors welcomes all students, regardless of GPA, to the program who desire to be challenged academically and develop a broader understanding of the world.
Students may take 一个, two, or all four of the 人文学科 Honors courses based on their general education needs and schedules. Flexibility has been intentionally built into the program to permit students to meet their educational goals in a manner that meets their needs.
