I teach courses on energy and sustainability in the Department of Environmental Studies at San José State University, 一个 of oldest environmental studies programs in the USA (founded on the first Earth Day 1970). Before my appointment in Environmental 科学, Policy, and Management at UC Berkeley, I received my Ph.D. at UC Santa Cruz in the Department of Environmental Studies. My experience includes working for a bioremeditation startup before graduate school as a project engineer on MTBE spills as well as a chemical process engineer for a Fortune 500 chemical manufacturer. I am a member of the American Association of Geographers, the Society for the Social Studies of 科学, and the Association of Environmental Studies and 科学s. I also participate in a group of academics known as alternative agrifood researchers without borders.
